101 | Leveraging AI in Your Online Business

Welcome back to the podcast! This week, we’ll dive into AI or artificial intelligence, discussing what I use it for in my business and how to avoid the overwhelm factor. We’ll specifically explore AI tools like my favorites, Jasper and ChatGPT, and their potential for online content creation.

Differences between AI tools like Jasper and ChatGPT

Starting with ChatGPT, the most popular and FREE tool, it can be incredibly helpful in various ways. My top 5 ways to use ChatGPT are:

  1. Outlines
  2. Tables & Charts
  3. Social Captions with Hashtags
  4. Analyzing my Platforms
  5. Research

ChatGPT builds on each other, so start with your branding. It is free, but there is a paid version available, offering zero downtime and access to new tools for around $20/month, which is unnecessary if you’re just getting started.

Now for Jasper.ai, a paid tool with a 7-day free trial. It is more up-to-date and accurate. My top 5 ways to use Jasper.ai are:

  1. Templates
  2. Rewrites (sound more like)
  3. Chrome Extension for mid-writing prompts
  4. Product descriptions on roundup posts
  5. Solid Intro and Conclusion paragraphs

Jasper is more up-to-date than ChatGPT, with built-in prompts and a chat feature like ChatGPT. You can add team members, and your brand voice is already a part of your account, saving you from starting over each time. It costs around $49/month, ideal for serious bloggers.

Leveraging AI for Social Media Marketing

AI tools can streamline your content creation process and automate repetitive tasks like creating podcast show notes based on a downloaded transcript, writing YouTube video descriptions, or crafting Instagram captions complete with hashtags, saving you time and effort.

These tools can also assist you in content scheduling/batching, optimizing posting times, and analyzing audience engagement to enhance overall marketing performance.

Remember, when using AI tools, it’s essential to blend the AI-generated content with your personal voice and brand identity.

TIPS for avoiding overwhelm

Don’t try to use AI for everything all at once. Start with one shortcut and make it a part of your process. Work with your tool of choice until it feels natural to open it up and use it for that particular purpose. Once you’re comfortable and it doesn’t feel like something extra but actually feels like magic, start with a new shortcut.

Future with AI

The way AI shows up on page one of Google will affect our blog traffic. Period. But that doesn’t mean you should quit or not get started. It simply means being aware and strategic, blogging smart!

What I’m doing about it is beefing up my Pinterest game, focusing on fewer roundup posts, and choosing topics that are easily searched and found on Google, which don’t require a personal opinion or perspective. I’m also getting more creative and pushing out as much new content as I am comfortable with producing without struggling.
